2022 saw the end of many celebrity marriages which sets the internet agog. Talkglitz brings to you a list of celebrities whose love sojourn with their spouses hit the rocks this year.
1. Funke Akindele and Abdul Rasheed Bello (JJC).
The two separated six years after marriage. JJC said his marriage with Funke had issues for the last two years and that he had to move out of their matrimonial home three months after Funke insisted he moved out. He took to his Instagram page and wrote, “Dear friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated.
While it lasted, we shared a lot of things together and created two beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now.
Three months ago at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house. Aside from the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, I have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship.
I am making this announcement so that the public is clear that we are both pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and well-being of our children, which is paramount, as well as business interests that need to be disentangled. But, I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other.”
They have two children.
2. Oritsefemi And Nabila Fash.
Nabila had revealed that her five years marriage with the singer had ended. She said Oritsefemi had two daughters from two different women before they met, and she had taken the girls as her own daughters. She revealed that they were currently going through a divorce process after discovering that the singer had welcomed a child with another woman while they were still married. Nabila said that Oritsefemi was expecting a son with the fourth woman during the period he came online to ask the public to help beg her, narrating how she had to move out of their home because he was physically abusive towards her.
3. Comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth and Elsie.
After twelve years of marriage with four children, the two ended their marriage. Basketmouth announced a marriage break-up with his wife of 12 years.
He revealed on his Instagram page, he wrote, “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.”
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance, and support they need.”
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy, as we navigate through these times.”
4. Kafayat Shafau popularly known as Kaffy And Joseph Ameh.
She revealed that their ten years of marriage had crashed earlier this year and also noted that divorce or separation was not supposed to be toxic or bitter. She said, “I have always wanted to see the best vision of my ex and even taking the chance of breaking this marriage was also to see that we both grew into what we really really are supposed to be”
“Marriage is supposed to be an alignment of destinies driving towards a place God wants for them. And mine really didn’t work out that way. And rather than looking at someone as the problem maybe you could be the problem of that person”

5. Gideon Okeke And Chidera.
The actor and BBNaija Gideon broke the news on his Instagram story that he had ended his marriage with her after four years of marriage, amid separation rumors that trailed them for over a year. He said it was a hard pill to swallow and urged fans to respect their privacy at the time.
He wrote, “You wouldn’t believe it if I told you that I’m separated from My marriage, right? No, you wouldn’t…so grab a seat.
It is in the interest of clarity and a clear conscience that this becomes imperative. But yea… Breakfast reach Me too. Las Las.
It’s been a hard hot pill I’ve had to swallow, boy. It sure humbles one. This PSA wouldn’t be so important (to Me), but for the trap that I find FAME to be sometimes gagged.

6. Comedian Julius Agwu and Ebiere.
Their matrimonial home crashed after fourteen years of marriage. Although there were allegations of cheating on the part of Agwu, he said his wife told him she was tired of the marriage.
7. Paul Okoye and Anita.
Their marriage ended after eight years and Paul has been flaunting his new girlfriend. Anita laid allegations against Paul, while filing for a divorce, saying he’s infidelity, fraud, being an absent parent, among others.
8. Adesina Adeleke popularly known as Sina Rambo and Korth.
Korth had accused Sina and his sister of violence and disclosed that their marriage was over as she succumb to abuse.
Korth also called out her husband over some debts, as she asked him to pay back the money he owed her
She said, “Later they will say Adeleke is my only achievement. Sina pay me my money you owe me from America and Nigeria. Beg beg. How many people do you have to fight with over bills? Or until them jack you for neck again like it just happened

9. John Njenga popularly known as Skales and Precious.
Skales, in an unreleased track, had revealed that he never knew he was married to the devil after one year of marriage.He said, “Disappointed by the one I called fam(family). This wasn’t no love, it was all for the gram.
How can you be so insensitive, you could have saved my mama’s life. You were ten minutes away from the crib.”
10. Kayode Oladotun popularly known as Do2dtun and Omotayo.
Omotayo filed for divorce over alleged forced abortion, domestic violence, and emotional abuse after nine years of marriage. Their marriage is blessed with two children.
Dotun stormed Omotayo’s Abuja residence on December 14, 2022, with some policemen and forcefully broke into her premises.
She assaulted her gateman and staff, forcing Omotayo into hiding.
She made claims of unlawful entry, malicious damage, criminal trespass, and unlawful use of policemen.
11. Saint Obi and Lydia.
They have three children and are separated after sixteen years of marriage. They battled over the custody of their three children after a divorce suit. The actor alleged an attempt on his life by his estranged wife.
12. Justin Dean and Korra Obidi.
Justin revealed back in March that he has ended his marriage with singer Korra. He said that was the hardest decision of his life, that he was leaving the marriage because of his mental health.
