Popular On Air Personality (OAP) Toke Makinwa has said the last one year without her late elder sister, Opeyemi Abimbola Akinyelure has been the darkest ever.
In October 2021, Makinwa announced her sister died during the finale of the Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season 6 edition in which she played host.
Makinwa shared her sister’s photo stating the deceased had so many dreams while she mourned her.
One year after, the media personality has been paying tribute to her late queen.
Makinwa informed her sister’s death taught her several indelible lessons adding she’s confident God was proud of her legacy as she lived and died in ‘faith’.
Sharing a video compilation of some of her sister’s precious moments, the 37-year-old actress wrote:
I miss you deep, I miss your laugh, I miss your prayers. I have so much to tell you, I don’t know how we made it past this year sis, truly, to live in the hearts of those you love is not to die.
I know you’re watching over us all. It’s been the darkest one year but on some days, you send us rays of sunshine and I’m forever grateful for the memories.

My Queen,
I love you Forever,
Keep dancing in heaven,
Keep singing with the angels,
One day, we’ll dance together again,
Till then….Rest on Sis ❤️”
