The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubarkar, met with the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and other party members in Oyo State.
Atiku was received by Makinde at the government house in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo. Atiku and other party members are in the state to attend the southwest stakeholders meeting.
This is the first time Abubakar is meeting with Makinde in the country after they met in London weeks ago.
The meeting is held to discuss the future of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Atiku who came in the company of his running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and other top hierarchies of the party was received by the deputy governor of the state, Bayo Lawal at the Alakia Airport, Ibadan.
The entourage of Atiku includes Sokoto State Governor, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state; Sen. Dino Melaye; Alhaji Babangida Aliyu; former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State; Governorship Candidate of Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, Ademola Adeleke, the governor-elect of Osun State, former minister of State, FCT, Mrs. Jumoke Akinjide, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and a host it others.
Prior to the interactive meeting, the Atiku-led delegation was received by Makinde at the Agodi Government House, Ibadan, after which they proceeded to Ogunlesi Hall, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for a closed-door meeting with the party hierarchy in the state.
