Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is ready for life outside Manchester United as his current contract runs out in the summer. The 29-year-old struggled during the 2019/2020 season and was forced to seek a loan move to West Ham in January 2021. He took the world by storm, scoring ten goals and raking in assists in his five months at East London.

West Ham then made a proper bid to sign him permanently but United declined, stating Lingard was going to be instrumental for them the following season. Lingard has since failed to play a key role in Manchester United’s season and the England international was willing to join Newcastle in January but the deal fell through.

Lingard has been reportedly been seen in London lately on house-hunting purposes as he is keen on rejoining West Ham. Newcastle, Leicester City and Crystal Palace have all made enquiries about Lingard ahead of next season. Lingard scored the winning goal that saw Manchester United win the FA Cup against Crystal Palace in 2016 under Dutch boss Louis Van Gaal.

He was also on the team that won the UEFA Europa League in 2017 when United defeated Ajax in the final. He also has a Community Shield winners medal and won the League Cup in 2017 when United defeated Southampton in the final. Lingard is desperate to get back to getting regular minutes  under his belt as he has openly declared he wants be on the England squad that will head to Qatar for the World Cup. Manchester United will also see Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani leave at the end of the season.

With a new manager already been appointed at Old Traffrod(Erik ten Hag), new faces will now be donning the red shirt worn by a great many legends.
