Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan has refused to show up before Justice Okon Abang, as the court starts sitting on account of illegal tax avoidance between the Federal Government and a previous National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh.
The Federal High Court had before requested President Goodluck Jonathan to today show up before it, to affirm as an observer with regards to Metuh.
Yet, the court which is managed by Justice Abang struck out the application recorded by Colonel Sambo Dasuki, looking to set aside the request of the court convincing him to show up before it as a defense witness.
Justice Abang in his decision struck out the application on the ground that Colonel Dasuki isn’t a gathering for the situation before him and thusly the court needs locale to engage the application.
The Court includes that engaging the application will add up to a solicitation to legal turmoil.
In the interim, the Registrar of the Court has quite recently educated the court that the bailiff is yet to serve the previous President with the request of the court.
The previous President was to show up as a defense witness in the suit documented by the Federal Government against Metuh.
Mr Metuh is confronting trial for supposedly getting N400 million out of the $2.1 billion dollars arms support from the previous National Security Adviser to Dr Jonathan, Colonel Sambo Dasuki
Metuh’s legal counselor, Onyechi Ikpeazu had prior told the court that he would subpoena the previous President as his barrier witness amid a session at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
Ikpeazu said assist that a letter has just been composed to the previous President Jonathan yet he was yet to react.
