President Donald Trump is presently mourning the loss of his younger brother, Robert Trump. Reports reveal that the brothers were close and remained so until the latter’s death.
Robert died of an undisclosed illness about almost 48 hours ago, shortly after he got a visit from his big brother. Not much is known about him but we have gathered some information about the lesser-known Trump that readers will want to know about.
Robert Stewart Trump was born August 26, 1948, and like his brother, he was an American real estate developer and business executive.
Born in Queens, New York, he was the youngest of five children and attended Boston University. He joined his father’s business, going on to manage the Trump Organization’s real estate holdings outside Manhattan.
Robert Trump was among the board of directors for video game company ZiniMax Media, a position he occupied from 2000 until his death in 2020. During his time as director, the company published popular series which included Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Doom, and Wolfenstein.
In the years before his passing, he was the president of Trump Management, a business owned by the Trump siblings, including Donald and their sisters Maryanne Trump-Barry and Elizabeth Trump-Grau.
In June 2020, Robert Trump filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the publication of Too Much and Never Enough, a book by his niece Mary L. Trump, said to contain lots of shocking revelations about the U.S. president’s past. The book was published as scheduled on July 14, 2020.
Robert filed for divorce from his wife Blaine Beard (whom he married in 1980) in 2007 and married Ann Marie Pallan in March 2020. She had been his secretary for many years.
In June 2020, he reportedly spent a week in intensive care in Mount Sinai Hospital, and on August 14, 2020, it was announced by the White House that he had been hospitalized in Manhattan and that his brother, Donald, would visit him.
Robert Trump died the next day, August 15, 2020, at the age of 71. In a statement, President Trump said: “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend.”
