Politician takes his nomination forms to a shrine

A Councillorship Aspirant for the forthcoming 2020 Local Government Elections in Akwa Ibom State has been photographed with his nomination forms in a shrine.

The unusual development was reported by Paradise News on August 13, 2020, and the news outlet disclosed that the aspirant named Friday Etim Ukim paid a visit to the ward deity on the aforementioned date to pray for his election.

Dressed in a singlet and a pair of shorts, Ukim placed the two nominations forms in front of the deity and offered prayers to it.

Seen on his knees, he accompanied his prayers with a bottle of gin while holding palm fronds on the other hand.
