Following the shutdown by the state government, the Island Beach State Park was closed to the public during the weekend holiday. However, New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie and family were spotted chilling at the summer beach house provided by the state for a weekend down the Shore.
Governor Chris Christie had ordered the shutdown of the premises amid the state budget standoff in Trenton.
I have issued an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency to maintain the protection, safety & well-being of the people of NJ.
