Zindzi Mandela, the daughter of the late South African anti-apartheid activist, Nelson Mandela, has died in Johannesburg.
Zindzi (59), whose mother, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, was also an activist, passed on in a Johannesburg hospital in the early hours of Monday, July 13, 2020. Her death has been confirmed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Her son, Bambatha, also shared a picture of his mother on Instagram with a caption that translates in English as “Rest in peace.”
Zindziswa Mandela was born on December 23, 1960. She was a South African politician who served as her country’s ambassador to Denmark at the time of her demise.
She was the younger sister of Zenani Mandela and the third of Nelson Mandela’s three daughters.
Zindzi was married twice and has four children: Zoleka Mandela, Zondwa Mandela, Bambatha Mandela, and Zwelabo Mandela.
