Facebook has reaffirmed its commitment to combat hate speech on its platform.
Content Policy Associate Manager, Facebook Sub-Sahara Africa, Ms. Fadzai Madzingira, made the disclosure at a Facebook Content Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya.
Madzingira said that the company had more than 15,000 professionals reviewing content in over 50 languages on a daily basis and that hate speech would not be allowed on the social media platform.

She further revealed that hate speech came in three forms; the first was content aimed at dehumanizing a person or group of persons based on their immigration status, the second targets a person or group of individuals based on their physical deficiencies and mental health, while the third focused on segregation (the right of a person or persons to exclude himself/herself/themselves from politics, economic benefits, and access to basic social amenities.
