Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is poised to produce and star in Irene Sendler, a movie based on the Polish heroine who saved Jewish children during the Holocaust.
The production comes from Warner Bros, with Gadot’s husband and producing partner, Yaron Varsano.
Sendler worked in the Polish underground world of the Warsaw Ghetto during the Second World War and worked with others to smuggle out children. She was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 and tortured. She kept her resolve and refused to reveal any information about the children.
Gadot’s casting shouldn’t come as a surprise as her portrayal of DC’s Amazon Princess is proof that she can headline a major Hollywood picture while looking good and kicking butt.
Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress and model who was crowned Miss Israel in 2004. Afterward, she served for two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat instructor and featured in the Fast and Furious franchise.
She earned worldwide fame for her role as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe and was included in Time’s 2018 list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Gadot is also among the highest-paid actresses in the world. With her husband Yaron Varsano, she has two daughters.
