The weekend is upon us and it’s always a time to take a rest from our weekly hustles, relax and have fun.

Watching movies is a good way to relieve the accumulated stress and as there are always a ton of those available, I have made a compilation that I think is a must-see for movie out there.

THE OLD GUARD

Starring the gorgeous and talented South African actress Charlize Theron, The Old Guard is currently the number one movie on Netflix and trust me when I say there is a reason why.

Effectively blending stylized action, memorable performances, an engaging plot, and one heck of a lead, this is the movie that will get action fans (and film buffs in general) geeking out with joy.

Part of what makes this awesome film work so well is the combo of actress Theron and director Gina Prince Bythewood; it’s a match made in heaven with exciting results.

SUGAR RUSH

What do you do when you discover a load of cash which seems meant for you? That’s the question that three friends find a swift answer to in this rib-cracking comedy.

With appearances from other notable stars like Banky W, Willaims Uchmba, and Omoni Oboli, Sugar Rush is indeed a good addition to the comedy genre.

THE GENTLEMEN

Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Hugh Grant, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, and , this is another movie that shouldn’t be ignored this weekend.

McConaughey plays a mob boss whose intention to sell his marijuana empire unleashes a series of actions that cascade into an all-out war that threatens his very existence and everything he stands for.

Akindele and her co-stars bring their comic skills to play in Your Excellency, a political satire revolving around a billionaire businessman and failed presidential candidate, Chief Olalekan Ajadi, who is obsessed with US leader Donald Trump.

When his political campaign is the verge of another disaster, Chief Ajadi becomes a tough contender with the assistance of the powerful social media.

With 94% of users on IMDB showing their for this film, it is guaranteed to be a balm for the troubled souls. I mean, when has Funke Akindele ever disappointed? She may not be the central character here but her presence is a big plus to the movie.
