Annie Wersching, who was best known for her portrayal of FBI agent Renee Walker in the hit TV series 24 passed away on January 29 in Los Angeles, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Throughout her 20-year career in the entertainment industry, Wersching appeared in numerous TV shows and left an indelible mark on audiences everywhere. Her first credit was in Star Trek: Enterprise, and she went on to have memorable recurring roles in shows such as 24, Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, The Rookie, and most recently, the second season of Star Trek: Picard, where she played the iconic role of the Borg Queen.
Neil Druckmann, the creator of the video game, The Last of Us, in which Wersching lent her voice to the character of Tess, confirmed the news of her passing on his Twitter account.
He wrote, “Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.
