Ahead of the general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, at various Registration Areas/Wards will begin on Friday, January 6, till 15.
The Head of the Department of Voter Education and Publicity, of the commission in Rivers State, Mr Mark Usulor, made this known in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs Geraldine Ekelemu, on Thursday.
According to Usulor, from January 16 to 22, PVC collection from Registration Areas/Wards will be transferred to INEC Local Government offices.
He urged those who were unable to collect their PVCs at the Commission’s LGA offices to take advantage of the new development and do so at the Registration Areas/Wards within the deadlines.
He urged all stakeholders to create a peaceful and conducive environment for the Commission’s staff to successfully complete the exercise at the state’s 319 Registration Areas/Wards within the time frame set.
